Curative Items
Curative Items such as Potions (Cure1 as in SNES) are extremely useful items. Weak curative items become lesser in use as your characters become stronger and gain new levels. However, in the Moon (when you get the Lunar Whale), you can find an item shop that sells the game's best items. Names in brackets are the names used in FF2, SNES version of FF4.

Potion (Cure1)

Elixir (Elixir)

Elixir can be bought in Namingway's Cave at the Moon.

Life (Life)

100 gil Single Removes KO Status and restores a small portion of HP
Notes:
It works like white Magic, Life.

Ether1 (Ether)

10,000 gil Single Restores a small amount of MP
Notes:
Ether1 can be bought in Namingway's Cave at the Moon.

Ether2 (Ether2)

50,000 gil Single Restores a medium amount of MP
Notes:
Ether2 can be bought in Namingway's Cave at the Moon.

Antidote

Notes:
Poison remains in effect even after battles with a green potion replacing the character's class.

Group Items
These items can be only used on the World Map or at a Save Point. Make sure you have stocked up a lot of them before heading into dungeons. These items cannot be used in battles.

Tent (Tent)

100 gil Single Restores some HP/MP and recovers status effects.
Notes:
It can ONLY be used at the World Map or Save Point

Cabin (Cabin)
Price Effect Function
500 gil Single Restores all HP/MP/status ailments.
Notes:
It can ONLY be used at the World Map or Save Point

Chocobo Items
In Final Fantasy IV (or FF2), your characters can only carries a limited amount of items. Once you have reached the maximum, you may need to exchange an item for another... These results some precious items may be lost in the process. However, it will be a different scenario if you visit Chocobo Forest regularly and call for Fat Chocobo to store up items. More details about item storage will be covered in the Chocobos Section.

Gysahl (Carrot)

50 gil Single Use it in Chocobo Forests
Notes:
To summon the Fat Chocobo, you need to approach a Chocobo Forest and locate a spot where you will find a tip - "I can smell the presence of Chocobo in the air" or similar. Use the Gysahl and you will be able to access the storage house.

Whistle (Whistle)
Price Effect Function
20000 gil Single Calls Fat Chocobo everywhere, except in battle.
Notes:
It can ONLY be used outside the battlefield. Make sure you got one before you head for the game's final dungeon. Purchase it at Namingway's Cave.
