Background
Cyan lives in the country of Doma. He devoted his life in guarding Doma Castle and his family. He has a dream of becoming a honorable knight for his Kingdom and is the King's right-hand man. His ability of a powerful swordsman has earned him respect and admiration among the citizens and soldiers of Doma. However an incident of Empire poisoning the people of Doma, Cyan loses his kingdom and his closest kins - Elayne (his wife) and his son Owain. He decides to join the Returners and bring back glory for his country and revenge for his family.

Skill - SwdTech
Every character has his/her own unique set of special attacks known as "Skills". Some of them requires the character to equip weapons or accessories to function, while others depend on the experience levels of the character. Some characters have a single skill ability while others have multiple ones. Cyan's SwdTech depends on a time charging indicator. Strong techniques will take up longer time for charge. SwdTech are devastating techniques and most of them does around 1.5x stronger than Cyan's normal Fight command. Cyan learns new SwdTech, as he gain new levels.
SwdTech
You will first use Cyan in a battle against the Leader. To execute a Sword Technique, just simply select "SwdTech" and the indicator will be shown like on the below. Wait for it reach the desired number and Cyan will execute it.

Magic
Final Fantasy VI has an unique magic learning system, which is also known as Esper System. To acquired new Magic, your characters need to search for new Espers, which these will turn into Magicite. The characters could inherit the Esper's Magic as long they are summoned in battles. At the end of the battle, your characters could gained Magic Points [which works like Ability Points]. Most magic arrives from power of Magicites, jewels that allows you to summon Esper. For more details, please refer to our Magic Section.

Critical Attack - Back Blade
Back Blade
Occasionally, a character could use a special attack - known as Critical Attack, when they are under a Critical status such as having a low HP. Under Critical status, there is a possibility of Cyan using the Back Blade when using the Attack command. The skies turn black and a slicing sound is heard from Cyan's sword. The enemy is instantly killed.
