Background
Edgar is the King of Figaro. He is an ally to the Empire, but also supports the Returners behind their back. This self-proclaimed "ladies' man" is known for his failed attempts at courting women, although he never gives up. His twin brother, Sabin, left the castle shortly after their father died. A master mechanic, Edgar has equipped Figaro Casle with powerful engines that allow it to burrow and travel underground in case of extreme circumstances.

Skill - Tools
Every character has his/her own unique set of special attacks known as "Skills". Some of them requires the character to equip weapons or accessories to function, while others depend on the experience levels of the character. Some characters have a single skill ability while others have multiple ones.   Tools provides Edgar will more attacking power and some of them causes status effects. Most tools effects multiple targets.
Tools
Edgar joins your party with AutoCrossbow acquired. You can get more Tools by purchasing them from shops (especially Figaro Castle item shop) for new tools. The stronger ones can be found in treasure chests. You just need to get only one Tool in order for Edgar to execute it.

Magic
Final Fantasy VI has an unique magic learning system, which is also known as Esper System. To acquired new Magic, your characters need to search for new Espers, which these will turn into Magicite. The characters could inherit the Esper's Magic as long they are summoned in battles. At the end of the battle, your characters could gained Magic Points [which works like Ability Points]. Most magic arrives from power of Magicites, jewels that allows you to summon Esper. For more details, please refer to our Magic Section.

Critical Attack - Royal Shock
Royal Shock
Occasionally, a character could use a special attack - known as Critical Attack, when they are under a Critical status such as having a low HP. Under Critical status, there is a possibility of Edgar using the Royal Shock when using the Attack command. It will cause Edgar to deal his opponents with a beam of light energy from the ground.
