Notes:
This quest can be done only if you have gotten all previous 15 legitmate GFs prior to Eden.
Make sure that you got the best weapons for your characters.

This is game's toughest dungeon. The enemies featured under this area is extremely tough and you cannot avoid them even if you equipped GF Diablos' Enc-None party ability.

The Ultima Weapon is a tough boss and you will need to boost your parties statistics to their optimum. Make sure you have a couple of Aura spells stocked the inventory. The ideal party is Squall, Zell and Quistis. Make sure Squall has the Lion Heart and 255 Str stats. This can be achieved by junction 100x Ultima to Str-J. As for Lion Heart, please refer to Weapon Upgrading Section.

Pilot the Ragnarok back the Deep Sea Research Center. Access the cockpit and converse with your allies. Bring in Zell to your party. Land on the helipad. Instead of the glowing pillar you have seen earlier, you should find a huge hole along with Save Point. Choose to make your way down the huge thick stem...

There will be a Draw Point near the foot of the trunk containing Dispel. Steam is gushing out from the machinery found at the left hand side of the center. Examine it and you will find that in order to access the basement, you need to release steam energy from the engine to activate the door locks. The Reserve Steam Pressure System has left 20 RSP. The intital door lock requires 4 RSP. You will be left with 16 blocks of RSP. The floor numbers are indicated on the back wall.

Enemy Encounter: Torma, Buel, Bomb
The method used will be different as it depends on this following character:

With Zell

Floor RSP Notes
1 2 The first 4 floors is rather easy. Just simply move downwards and examine a steam machine and choose to use the required RSP marked on the left column. The combination is 2-2-1-1.
2 2
5 1
9 1
Base 0 Pick the 2nd Option "Leave it to Zell". Zell will able to activate the machine without using any RSP!

Going down the Basement without Zell

On the second floor, there are two steam machines. The other one is located near the stairs. Examine and use 4 RSP. You will be able to enter the door on the left. In the room, there is a machine that will replenish back 7 RSP and a Esuna Draw Point. Use 1 RSP until you reached the Base and you should have 14 RSP left. Choose to use the 4 RSP to activate the steam machine at the basement and you will be able to access the Deposit like the previous method.

The upcoming battles are tough and you will be challenged by a huge chord of enemies!
Recommended Party: Squall, Quistis and Zell
Make sure you have Siren's Move-Find ability acquired...
Enemies Screeen Strategy

The first screen after you have successfully reduce the RSP to 10. There is the Save Point Take note of the enemy's poison gas attack as you can handle the physical attacks of the boss with your 100x Sleep or Blind to ST-Atk-J. Please note that Tri-Face drops Curse Spike frequently. I would advise you to get 100x Curse Spikes for Quistis before proceeding on further. Other monsters found on the World Map does not drop this item unlike this monster.

A screen of spiral stairways Take note of the Imp's Holy spell when it is KO'd. Grendel's Tail Blade does a huge amount of damage and it will bring characters with low Vit to instant death. Just make use of Blind or Death to ST-Atk-J to kill off the enemies instantly.

The screen where you find a statue holding a spear. There is a draw point - Triple This is the easiest among all battles encountered in deposit area. Behemoth can be killed off instantly with 100x Death to ST-Atk-J! You can also keep it in Sleep with 100x Sleep to ST-Atk-J. However, Behemoths focus more on offense than defense. Behemoths drops Barrier, an item that allows Quistis to learn Mighty Guard.

A long straight path followed a turning gap at the end. Ruby Dragons are extremely tough! If you encountered one, make sure that everyone's Vit is above 100 or they will be instantly killed off! Do not hestiate to waste an Aura spell on Quistis. Have her cast Degenerator for an instantly victory. You can have Quistis start off the battle with low HP and Initiative equipped. Junction 100x Blizzarga to Elem-Atk-J.

x2
A long path similar to previous one. There is a short stairs that lead to the bottom of the deposit. You will encounter 2 Iron Giants instead of one if you choose to battle at near Esthar City. Like the Behemoth, Iron Giants are offensive attackers and weak defense against status ailments. Equip 100x Sleep or 100x Blind to ST-Atk-J for your characters. You will be able to end the battle without losing any HP most of the time... To make full use of the character's attacking power, junction 100x Thundaga to Elem-Atk-J.

At the deposit, Squall will find a monster being embedded within a crystal. That's is the Ultima Weapon. Equip Siren's Move-Find Ability and you will find a Save Point where you can use a Tent and save your game. Make the necessary preparations.

A GF is awaiting...
Remember to draw Eden from Ultima Weapon before defeating it! You can get a Three Star if you choose to mug the boss or you will get 100x Ultima Stones.

Make sure you have a couple of Aura spells in the character's inventory. Last of all, do not forget Squall's Lion Heart...

Once you done with your preparations. Examine the steam machine on the left and use up the remaining 10 RSP. You will be able to free the Ultima Weapon from its frozen state and challenge it!

S T R A T E G Y
The Weapon has a huge arsenal of devastating attacks. Ranging from a HP depleting Gravija, damaging spells - Meteor and Ultima and its 9999 HP instant killer weapon - Iron Pillar.

Make sure that Squall is equipped with the Auto-Haste ability. Start of the battle by casting Aura on Squall and Meltdown on the Weapon. Zell should support Squall in offense and Quistis should be party's healer [Equip her with Revive and Recover]. Make sure every character has Life spells stocked. Squall should be executing Renzoukukens (Limit Breaks) throughout the entire battle.

The boss will definitely use all the mentioned attacks at least once. Therefore, it means one of your character is going die indefinitely. Cast Life on that character or use Revive command. You should be able to finish it with 2 Lion Heart finishing deathblows along with 3 Renzoukukens... Zell should be also executing his Limit Breaks (just interchange between Punch Rush and Booya). Keep up the endurance and you will be able to defeat the boss in no time!

By the way, do not forget to draw Eden from the boss!
Items: Ultima Stone x100, Eden's Card   Steal:  Three Stars x1 AP : 100

Once you are done, you have obtained the game's last and strongest GF - Eden! Make your way back up and exit the Deep Sea Research Center. Continue with other quests or continue with the walkthrough.
