A beautiful and enigmatic woman, who is kind-hearted and possess the drive to succeed. She is a cheerful girl who possesses a "mood-making" liveliness and gentleness that touches people without discrimination. She is honest about her feelings and readily speaks what she thinks. However, in time, she ends up becoming warped about her true feelings. To seek independence for Timber Town from the ruling of Galbadia Army, she has led a rebellion group called "The Forest Owls". She has a pet dog named "Angelo".

Below is the list of weapons for Rinoa Heartilly. Please note that you can have ONLY one weapon at a time. In other words, if Rinoa's weapon has been upgraded to the Valkyrie, you will lost the Pinwheel). If you observe carefully, you will find out that the weapons just add 20+ to Rinoa's Str stats unlike in previous Final Fantasies where you can add around 100 at most. The major increase in strength or other statistics is via Junction. In other words, upgrading weapons is not the best choice in increasing the attacks. Rinoa starts off the game with the Pinwheel.

Execution of Limit Breaks.
Limit Breaks are a set of skills used when the character is facing crisis. It would normally happened when they are hit consecutively by an enemy or hit points are running low, you can tap the [Menu] and you will find a blinking triangle appear on the right hand side of the attack. When you see this, hit and you will reveal the character's Limit Breaks. Every characters have a different set of Limit Breaks. Normally the lower the character's HP is, the higher the chances that your character will be able to execute the Limit Break.

About Combine
The general name set for Rinoa's Limit Breaks is called "Combine". Combine involves Rinoa and her dog to form an attack. Angelo will learn new attacks when you have read new Pet Pals Issues. Angelo can also aid her master midway in the battle.

To learn a new Combine technique, you need to read the magazine that contains the technique first. Next you need to proceed to Rinoa's status screen. Check her Limit Breaks. You will find several meter gauges. Select the technique you want to learn. Next go to towns and walk around. The more steps you take, the faster the guage builds up. You can also equip Enc-None while on the world map to learn her Limit Breaks.

Status refers to the battle status for Rinoa. Limit Break means that Rinoa can execute the move when she gets into Limit Break status. Critical Status means when Rinoa or her friends are severely wounded, Angelo will come out to the battlefield to perform the attack. Please note that you cannot choose Rinoa to execute the desired Limit Break at will. The COM will randomnly selects one for execution.

List of Pet Volumes
To allow Angelo to learn new tricks, you need to find Pet Volumes magazines marked with . Most of the advanced versions can only be bought. After reading the magazine, it does not mean that Angelo has fully mastered the skill. There is a need to move around the terrain or the World Map to build up the dog's experience bar which is shown under Rinoa's status screen. Once the bar is full, you will hear a 'ring', which indicates Angelo has learnt the skill.

Varly
This Limit Break option is only available after you have gotten the Ragnarok Airship in Disc 3. Varly allows Rinoa to unleash her hidden sorceress powers. She will execute any spell randomnly from her magic inventory. You will lose control of Rinoa till she is KO'd or the battle ends.

R I N O A ' S   C A R D
Getting It:
You need to get the Ifrit's Card first. Go to Caraway's Mansion in Disc 2. Lose Ifrit to Caraway in a card game deliberately. Talk to Caraway and he will say that he will use her daughter's card. Defeat Caraway in a card game again for the card. To recover the lost Ifrit's card, proceed to FH and defeat Martine.
