A cadet with a scar on his forehead hardly speaks and is deemed by his elders as one of the best cadets. Squall Leonhart is a cold-hearted and seldoms speaks about his feelings. He is an orphan who is currently under the training of Trepe Teacher - Quistis Trepe. Squall wields an unique weapon - a combination of a gun and sword known as the "gunblade". He shows a bit more concerns for his friends and loved ones as the story goes by...

Below is the list of weapons for Squall Leonhart. Please note that you can have ONLY one weapon at a time. In other words, if Squall's weapon has been upgraded to the Shear Trigger, you will lost the Revolver). If you observe carefully, you will find out that the weapons just add 20+ to Squall's Str stats unlike in previous Final Fantasies where you can add around 100 at most. The major increase in strength or other statistics is via Junction. In other words, upgrading weapons is not the best choice in increasing the attacks. Squall starts off the game with the Revolver.

Execution of Limit Breaks.
Limit Breaks are a set of skills used when the character is facing crisis. It would normally happened when they are hit consecutively by an enemy or hit points are running low, you can tap the [Menu] and you will find a blinking triangle appear on the right hand side of the attack. When you see this, hit and you will reveal the character's Limit Breaks. Every characters have a different set of Limit Breaks. Normally the lower the character's HP is, the higher the chances that your character will be able to execute the Limit Break.

About Renzoukuken
The general name set for Squall's Limit Breaks is called "Renzoukuken". Renzoukuken can be powered-up when you hit Trigger on the trigger box when Squall is executing his Limit Breaks. The maximum number of triggers is 7. If you hit all seven, you see a "PERFECT" appearing on the center of the screen.

On top of the regular Renzoukukens, Squall is able to unleash his finishing slash on a random basis. It is around 1 out of 8 chances that Squall will execute the finishing slash. Upgrading the gunblade will give Squall an additional finishing slash. You cannot control to execute the desired finishing slash. The lower Squall's HP is, the more powerful finishing slash that Squall will execute and higher probability that Squall will execute a finishing slash. Squall appears to execute more finishing slashs when he is facing a stronger foe such as BOSS or he is at a higher level. The better the weapon, the more finishing slash that Squall will be able to use.

Squall starts off with the Rough Divide finishing slash. Below is a table illustrating the list of available finishing slashs and their requirements.
